ReversingLabs Wins 2026 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Award for Threat Detection Solution Provider of the Year

Award honors Spectra Detect for identifying sophisticated malware at enterprise scale as AI accelerates the speed and volume of cyber threats

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Oct. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ReversingLabs (RL), the trusted name in file and software security, today announced it has been named Threat Detection Solution Provider of the Year in the 2026 CyberSecurity Breakthrough Awards for its Spectra Detect platform. Now in its tenth year, the program recognizes companies and technologies driving innovation across the global cybersecurity industry.

Artificial intelligence is reshaping the economics of cyberattacks, enabling threat actors to modify, rebuild, and redeploy malicious tooling faster and at greater scale. For security teams, that creates a growing challenge: analyze more files, identify malicious behavior faster, and maintain coverage even as individual artifacts change.

Spectra Detect is built to help security teams keep pace with today’s rapidly evolving threat landscape. By combining deep file analysis with enterprise-scale processing, the platform helps organizations identify known malware, previously unseen threats, and obfuscated variants quickly, even when traditional hashes, reputation scores, and other conventional indicators fall short.

Recent ReversingLabs threat research illustrates that advantage. After Anthropic published indicators associated with a Midnight Blizzard-linked espionage operation in September, RL researchers checked those indicators against historical ReversingLabs telemetry. Both malware samples were already present in RL telemetry nearly two months before Anthropic published its findings, having first appeared on July 6 and July 10. Both carried malicious results from ReversingLabs analysis components at approximately the time they were first processed.

One of the samples, a PowerShell stager, was classified as malicious by ReversingLabs within seconds of first appearing in its telemetry. More than three weeks later, only 8 of 29 third-party antivirus scanners detected the sample. The finding highlights the value of deep, high-speed file analysis when security teams cannot afford to wait for broad industry consensus before acting on a threat.

“AI is changing how quickly attackers can rebuild and adapt their tools, and it is increasing the volume of threats security teams need to analyze,” said Mario Vuksan, CEO and co-founder of ReversingLabs. “Spectra Detect gives defenders the speed, depth, and coverage they need to keep pace. By analyzing what a file is capable of doing, rather than relying on a single reputation signal or signature, security teams can identify threats faster and respond with greater confidence.”

Spectra Detect is designed for security operations, threat hunting, and incident response teams that need to analyze large volumes of files without creating additional operational bottlenecks. The platform can ingest and analyze up to 100 million files per day, deconstruct more than 400 file formats, and apply ReversingLabs’ proprietary analysis technologies to uncover malicious behavior, embedded threats, and suspicious characteristics.

Its analysis is supported by ReversingLabs’ threat intelligence corpus, which includes more than 450 billion file reputation records, giving security teams broader context when investigating potentially malicious files and software.

The award builds on ReversingLabs’ continued investment in technologies designed to help organizations detect threats hidden inside complex files and software packages. Spectra Detect provides security teams with detailed insights into file behavior and composition, supporting malware analysis, threat hunting, incident response, and other security operations workflows.
